Juby George is an Indian food aficionado and self-taught chef with a passion for sharing his amazing cuisine with the community. He came to the Temple SBDC in April of 2021 looking for help starting up his business Smell the Curry.

Smell the Curry is an authentic Indian caterer that specializes in regional South and North Indian cuisines.  It offers vegetarian, non-vegetarian, and Indo-Chinese cuisines and provides catering for celebrations of any size.  The company specializes in weddings, corporate celebrations, office lunch meetings, holiday parties, graduations, and other special events. George and his team are passionate and deeply committed to providing FEEL GOOD INDIAN FOOD clients will love.

When George came to the SBDC, he was at the beginning of his business journey. With the help of his consultant Elaina, George’s business was able to officially become an LLC. George also took part in our Digital Connect Program, which pairs small business owners with students to help create or enhance their websites.

When George started the Digital Connect Program, Smell the Curry had no website. With the help of Temple University students, he was able to bring his website vision to life.  Today, Juby has an active and functional site, www.smellthecurry.com, where prospective customers can view his services and products, as well as place orders for his cuisine.  The site showcases the Smell the Curry brand beautifully and houses glowing reviews from customers.

When asked about his experience with the Digital Connect program, George said “The student was very knowledgeable and knew the platform that best fit my business. She and I worked great together and got everything finished within the timeline allocated. I couldn’t ask for anyone better to get this job done!”

The SBDC continues to act as a resource for George.  He is currently working with our legal clinic to address some questions related to trademarking and its benefits.
