Madeline Collyer, Class of 2025, has proven to be an ambassador of all trades. This marketing major from Holmdel, N.J., shares her Temple pride showcasing everything from lattes to study abroad to student engagement.
Campus ambassador
As a Saxbys Campus Ambassador, sipping a latte at Saxbys in Alter Hall is one of my favorite places to be on campus. This positon has empowered me to embrace an entrepreneurial mindset, think creatively and gain real-world marketing experience.
Cultural creator
I was able to take this experince from Saxbys and apply it to my internship working on Temple University Rome’s social media. As an Italian American, I chose to study abroad at the TU Rome campus to learn about my heritage. I fell in love ‘a latte’ not only with Italian coffee, but with the history and culture. This global experience was life changing and exceeded my expectations.
Moving to a new city across the globe for four months was a huge period of personal growth and adventure for me. I was able to overcome the challenges of being abroad, homesickness and the unfamiliarity of living in another country.
Embracing a lifestyle that is completely different from how I live in America allowed me to become a more independent and open-minded person. Throughout my travels in Italy and outside the country, I learned how to find happiness in the little things, appreciate every moment and to be grateful for everything I have in my life.
Model representative
I started as a member of the American Marketing Association Temple chapter (TU-AMA) in my freshman year. During my sophomore year, I joined the executive board as the director of media relations, content creation, where I utilized my creativity skills to create graphics for all TU-AMA social media posts. This role progression exposed me to numerous opportunities and an amazing network of professionals.
Now entering my junior year, I am beginning a new leadership role as the director of membership, recruitment and retention. TU-AMA has been a huge factor in my growth both professionally and personally—and I look forward to sharing the value of membership with incoming students.
